As I scrolled through the images of their amazing apartment, I noticed the prints on their living room wall, and my heart skipped a beat. I like it when two genuinely good and beautiful people get married.

When everything seems chaotic and things don't happen the way they should, we peel off the layers of what a wedding is, and the fundamentals become even more apparent.

This was my first out.

When Tim contacted me a couple of weeks before Christmas, I had decided not to shoot anything else in 2009.

After a whirlwind of a year, I was ready to spend some time stuffing my face with ham and chocolate.

But there was something about Tim's email.

Named one of the top photographers in the world many times over.

He's based in Austin, TX, but shoots all around the world.

I get a few wedding inquiries.

And even though I do get to shoot all over the world, I try not to get my hopes up.

Plans change, and weddings get canceled.

And for me, it's sometimes as exciting shooting in my own backyard.

When I received Cheree and Mitchell's inquiry about shooting their wedding.

I just want it to come out right, he said.

I love her so much, and it can't sound cliché, he continued.

Bernie was worried his love for Jane wouldn't come across in the speech he was writing.
